From Philadelphia's WHYY comes The Pulse, a radio show about "the people and places at the heart of health and science." The show is hosted by Maiken Scott and covers a wide variety of topics including health care, the environment, technology, mental health, disability, and much more. In one recent episode, "The Cost of Diabetes," Scott talks to individuals living with diabetes and the many ways the disease impacts their lives. In another recent episode "Make (a) Way," Scott speaks with a variety of individuals who live with disabilities, including healthcare professionals with disabilities, about accessibility and attitudes towards disability in the healthcare world. Each episode of The Pulse is approximately fifty minutes in length, and new episodes are released once a week. In addition, visitors can check out a number of shorter segments from these fifty-minute episodes on the program's webpage.
