[SPT/CWIS] Authenticating

Hey there fellow SPT/CWIS users. I wanted to know a few things:
- Has anyone hacked away at not allowing any user to register. That is
controll it from the browser. I know I can just get rid of the register
links.
 
-How about authenticating versus other systems like AD or LDAP?
