Downloads Downloading
Distribution files for current releases of Collection Workflow Integration System (CWIS):
If you are downloading CWIS for the first time to evaluate the software, the 1.9.3 release is strongly recommended. Although it is a development version, the new infrastructure developed for CWIS 2.x is better documented and easier to understand and customize. Requirements
CWIS 1.5.2 requires a web server with PHP 4.1.0 and MySQL 4.1 or later. PHP must be installed with MySQL support. CWIS 1.9.3 requires a web server with PHP 5.0.5 and MySQL 5.0 or later. PHP must be installed with MySQL support. CWIS is currently being developed with Apache 2.2.3, PHP 5.2.10, and MySQL 5.0.77 on Red Hat Linux and OS X. It should work with earlier version of Apache, but these specific versions (or later versions) of Apache, PHP, and MySQL are recommended. Installation
Before beginning installation of the CWIS, you should have these pieces of information:
Once you have the above information and have downloaded the CWIS distribution file (cwis-1.5.2.zip), unpack that file, upload the unpacked files and directories to your web server, and make sure that the directory structure inside the zip file is preserved and that the directory you uploaded to and the following subdirectories under it are writable by the web server:
include
After you have the files uploaded and directories writable, begin the install by using your web browser to go to the URL: http://mysite.com/installcwis.php
where If everything checks out, the installation should take less than 30 seconds, after which a link to your new CWIS site will be displayed, and you can go to the new site and log in. Upgrading
CWIS 1.5.2 can be used to upgrade sites running CWIS or SPT 1.4.0 or later. If you are running an earlier version of CWIS or SPT you'll need to first upgrade to 1.4.0 (available below) and then to 1.5.2. When upgrading a live site, please first back up your CWIS directory and database if at all possible. Significant effort is made to test each version before it is released, but web server environments vary widely and it's good to have a backup copy in case of difficulty. To upgrade, download the CWIS distribution file (cwis-1.5.2.zip), unpack that file, and upload the unpacked files and directories to the CWIS directory on your web server, overwriting the existing files from the previous CWIS version. After you have the files uploaded, run the upgrade by using your web browser to go to the URL: http://mysite.com/installcwis.php
where If everything checks out, the upgrade should take less than 30 seconds, after which a link to your new CWIS site will be displayed, and you can go to the new site and log in. Checksums
If you want to make sure that the files downloaded correctly, the MD5 checksum values for the files (obtainable on most Linux systems with the md5sum command) are as follows: Version 1.5.2 Checksum Value
Version 1.9.3 Checksum Value
If you're not sure how to use the md5sum command, consult your system administrator or local Linux guru. Thanks for your interest in CWIS. We're eagerly looking forward to your feedback! Old Versions
These past versions of CWIS are presented for reference only — they are not recommended for production use or on a live web site.
(CWIS version numbering jumped from 1.1.1 to 1.3.0 to sychronize it with SPT version numbers.) |
